Musical Influences
Vince Clarke, Gary Numan, OMD, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, John Foxx, The Human League, Pet Shop Boys, Ultravox, Moby, DJ Sammy, Lasgo to name a few.
About Me:
I am 45 and have had a passion in electronic based music since 1979/1980 as soon as I heard "Are Friends Electric?" by Tubeway Army (Gary Numan) on the radio. I was hooked on synthesizers from that moment on. Gary named some of his influences at that time as the likes of Ultravox, John Foxx and Kraftwerk. Naturally I had to check them out! I bought "Metamatic" by John Foxx and "Man Machine" by Kraftwerk and I was blown away with this cacophony of wonderful electronic sound. Soon after I started writing my own electronic synthpop music with a friend of mine very similar to the music of early OMD. Electronic music has stayed with me since and continues to be the key aspect of my modern day material. I also produce sample based dance/trance music which still has to have the vital ingredients of a good song - A decent melody. Recently finished a full album of Kraftwerk cover versions in which I used my own vocals for the first time. This CD has been submitted to Astralwerk records in the states who have previously released Kraftwerk tribute albums - so you never know what may happen there. I am currently finishing off an electronic soundtrack themed album of my own material called "Where Do We Go From Here?" that has been in the making for 2 years!! I am also doing a number of the tracks in a different version of the album utilising only retro analog synths. Around 6 songs have been completed of that version of the album. So there will be aAlso I am currently doing some Gary Numan cover versions. So far I have recorded Cars, Complex and Replicas. I am hoping to put together a whole album of Gary's music from his earlier period.

Turn ons/Offs
Pretty much all of the influences I have mentioned. Being from Manchester I am a mad keen Joy Division/New Order fan.
What do you think you'll be doing in 5 years time
I hope writing more material and taking my music making to an even higher level.

2 Yazoo Tracks Recorded

I have recently finished recording 2 Yazoo tracks. The songs covered are "Goodbye 70's" and "Too Pieces" both tracks originally appeared on Yazoo's debut album "Upstairs At Erics". In my versions I have tried to keep as faithful to the original versions.

I hope you like my take on these 2 classic Yazoo tracks.

A Gary Numan Influenced Track Now Added To The Player On My Page

I have just added a brand new track called "I Remember You" to the player on my page. The song is heavily influenced by Gary Numan's early work, most notably his "Telekon" album. For the first time on one of my own compositions I have recorded my own vocals. The lyrics I have written are also very "Gary Numan".

This is the third Gary Numan themed track I have recorded the others being "Rewind To Zero" and "I Once Was A machine" both of which were instrumentals. I have also recently recorded 3 G… Continue

Brand New Electronic Track "Distant Glimmer" Added To My Player

A vintage synth version of a track called "Distant Glimmer" has been added to the player on my page here. Has a Vince Clarke feel to this version.

A bit of background for you, I am recording 2 versions of the same album which is to be called "Where Do We Go From Here?" one using modern day digital synths and one version using old analog synths the version here is the analog version.

Both versions of the album are currently being worked on.

Hey Gaz...just having a listen to the 2 tracks...sorry its taken soo long.

okay now this is very funky...'good bye 70's'...classic

this is reminding me of 'top of the pops'..or a club scene from an 80's film.

as always crystal clear, and a nice listen.

havn't chatted for a while now..hope your all going well, glad that you keep coming back here...most appreciated.

'Too Pieces' creeps in, like the plonk style synth work....must admit that this all sounds very professional unfortunatley im not familiar with the originals...but judging by your work...i might go investigate.

good stuff mate
