- TOKAY a.k.a. HaNs(i) is a songwriter/producer, born and resident in Roermond, Netherlands. Starting in music in the late 80's and played in some local bands. First as a Funky Guitarist but after two years switching to the Keyboards.
What inspired Tokay was the time he spend living in Indonesia. "Tokay" is the sound of Indonesia, everywhere you stay, until late in the evening you can hear that sound. It's the voice of the gecko. Living high in the trees. It's just like they speak to each other. Question and answer, just like the old jazz music, instruments that communicate with each other. Once you been sleeping in that quit little kampung (village), you will never forget it the rest of your life and sometimes sitting at a peaceful place you will remember and mumble "Tokay" in your imagination.
