Thanks for all the initial uploads and everything to get the ball rolling on this project, many of you have come up with some fantastic ideas, all of which im going to look into.

This project is very much a long term thing, so theres no hurry on this, i know were all very busy writing tracks/performing/collabing / and living a life, working and everything else so we need not worry about having 'a sense of urgency on this'.

Idealy i'd like to get at least 50 artists involved with this project, so if you know of any artists that might have an interest please let them know.

at time of writing this we have 16 who are 'up for it' and thats a great start after such a short space of time !!

There's a hell of a lot of planning involved with a project of this scale, and i agree with remergence that 9-12 months is a realistic time frame .

with a release date of early 2009, or maybe in time for x-mas 08 ?

if were gonna do this we have to do it 'right' so please keep the ideas coming in, the more the better.

I'm really looking forward to this, you never know we might all end up on TV !! (think BIG!!!).

Okay, downloads work in IE for me so I have downloaded those three sound files that were posted and will try to grab as many more as I can as we go along so that a sample collection starts happening.

Might be a good idea for other people to start collecting the posted sound files too so that we don't have any falling between the cracks as the project gets bigger and more complex.

I'm renaming the files like this...

ArtistName-DescriptionOfSample.wav

...so that we can later easily identify who made what sample when the collection gets large.

This is a very cool project!!!! :)

While this mother of all online collabs is taking off here, you might like to get some more group music fun and experience with Decabastard, an online group collaboration project that has been going for a couple of months now at Pixies Palace at Last.fm.

Several artists from EI Network are already involved including: Titee, Corrientes, The Peach Tree and others, with me as project admin.

This project has been an education in how to keep a large cybermusic project like this going. It's been threatened with chaos and confusion on a couple of occasions, lol. But Decabastard lives!

Jayz aka Electromagnetic Impulses is currently in the process of moving house and will be offline for another couple of weeks in the crossover - thought I'd just let you know about that so you don't wonder about lack of reply.

I'm not managing this project but it occurs to me that it might be best to upload smaller files to the site if possible because it looks as though Jayz has designed the process this way so that everyone can access and download the files from this site for their mixes (which wouldn't work if the sound files are only sent to one person by email).

Best of luck with it, this is an ambitious and interesting project that will take some time to complete I imagine!
